On Monday, the Ministry of External Affairs of India issued a statement saying 'India notes' the promulgation of new constitution in Nepal in an apparent dissatisfaction over the promulgation of new constitution through nearly 90 percent votes in the Constituent Assembly (CA).

In a clear indication that India may even stop supply of daily essentials to Nepal, the Tuesday statement said Indian freight companies and transporters have voiced complaints about the difficulties they are facing in movement within Nepal and their security concerns due to prevailing unrest.
People on social media  have reacted strongly to India's statement on Nepal's new Constitution. As a result, the hashtag ‘BackOffIndia’ is trending on Twitter. According to Topsy, a site that monitors twitter trends, #BackoffIndia was tweeted over 71 thousand times by Tuesday afternoon, and is increasing.  The hashtag is trending worldwide.
